KR Valve's Soft Sealed Wafer Butterfly Valves​

Soft-sealed wafer butterfly valves is one of the mainly products in KR VALVE which are widely used in fluid control systems due to their advantage in material selection, adaptability, and durability. It is precise matching of different working conditions and quality control of materials.

1. Valve body material: Balancing strength and adaptability

The mainstream materials used are ductile iron, carbon steel, or stainless steel. Ductile iron undergoes high-temperature aging treatment and has a strength that is more than 30% higher than ordinary cast iron. It is also impact resistant and not easily deformed.

Stainless steel material is selected as 304 or 316L, which has strong corrosion resistance and can adapt to special media such as acid and alkali, chlorine, etc., avoiding the problems of easy corrosion and short service life of ordinary materials.

The materials comply with national standards such as GB/T 12224, with no defects such as pores or sand holes, ensuring stable long-term pressure operation.

2. Valve seat (soft seal core): excellent sealing performance and service life

High quality elastic materials such as EPDM, PTFE, or VITON (fluororubber) are preferred. EPDM has a temperature resistance range of -40 ℃~120 ℃ and is suitable for conventional working conditions such as water and steam. The sealing leakage rate is ≤ 0.01L/h.

PTFE material has extremely strong chemical stability, acid and alkali resistance, and resistance to organic solvents, solving the pain point of sealing failure in highly corrosive media. It also has a low friction coefficient (≤ 0.04), reducing valve plate wear.

The valve seat adopts the molding vulcanization process, which fits tightly with the valve body without the risk of detachment, and its service life is 2-3 times longer than that of ordinary adhesive valve seats.

3. Valve plate and shaft materials: wear-resistant and efficient transmission

The valve plate is made of the same material as the valve body or coated with stainless steel, and the surface is polished with a roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 μ m to reduce friction loss with the valve seat.

The valve shaft is made of 2Cr13 or stainless steel, which has undergone quenching and tempering treatment to achieve a hardness of HRC28-32 and high torsional strength, avoiding shaft deformation and jamming caused by long-term opening and closing.
