    Characteristics

The sealing surface of stainless steel valves is welded with Stellite or cobalt chromium tungsten alloy, with a hardness of ≥ HRC58, a temperature resistance of up to 600 ℃, and a leakage level of ANSI Class IV. It is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure corrosive media (such as high-temperature dilute nitric acid).

    Advantages

    1. Wide Temperature Range & Stable Working Ability

The thermal stability of stainless steel material is better than that of carbon steel. Conventional stainless steel gate valves can operate stably within the range of -200 ℃ (ultra-low temperature liquid nitrogen working condition) to 600 ℃ (high temperature steam working condition), and are not easily oxidized or deformed at high temperatures. There is no risk of brittle fracture at low temperatures. Compared to carbon steel gate valves, it has a wider temperature range and is suitable for more extreme working conditions.

    2. High Sealing Reliability & Low Maintenance Cost

Metal hard seal type: The sealing surface is welded with hard alloy (such as Stellite alloy), combined with the wear-resistant characteristics of stainless steel substrate. The sealing surface is not easy to scratch or corrode, and the leakage level can reach ANSI Class IV. The service life is 3–5 times that of carbon steel gate valves.

Soft seal type: The valve seat is embedded with PTFE/PFA and other fluorine materials, tightly fitting with the stainless steel gate plate, which can achieve ANSI Class VI zero leakage. The stainless steel material is not easy to rust, avoiding valve stem jamming and reducing maintenance frequency.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q What is the operating temperature range of a stainless steel gate valve?
Stainless steel gate valves can operate stably within a temperature range of -200 ℃ (ultra-low temperature liquid nitrogen conditions) to 600 ℃ (high-temperature steam conditions). The standard product specification covers -30 ℃ to 425 ℃, offering broader adaptability than carbon steel gate valves.
Q What sealing grades are available for stainless steel gate valves?
Two sealing types are available: metal hard seal (ANSI Class IV leakage level) with Stellite alloy-welded sealing surfaces, and soft seal (ANSI Class VI zero leakage) using PTFE/PFA fluorine materials embedded in the valve seat. Both types provide excellent long-term sealing reliability.
Q What international standards does this stainless steel gate valve comply with?
These valves comply with multiple internationally recognized standards including EN, API, DIN, and GOST, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of global industrial pipeline systems and project requirements.
Q What industries or applications are stainless steel gate valves best suited for?
Stainless steel gate valves are widely used in industries handling corrosive media, clean fluids, and extreme temperature environments — including chemical processing (e.g., high-temperature dilute nitric acid), food and pharmaceutical production, oil and gas pipelines, power generation, and municipal water treatment systems.
Q How does the service life of a stainless steel gate valve compare to a carbon steel gate valve?
Stainless steel gate valves with metal hard seal (Stellite alloy sealing surfaces) have a service life approximately 3–5 times longer than conventional carbon steel gate valves. The stainless steel base material resists rust and corrosion, significantly reducing valve stem jamming and lowering long-term maintenance costs.
Q What is the hardness of the sealing surface and why does it matter?
The sealing surface is welded with Stellite or cobalt chromium tungsten alloy, achieving a hardness of ≥ HRC58. This high hardness ensures the sealing surface resists scratching, erosion, and corrosion under demanding operating conditions, maintaining long-term sealing integrity and reducing the need for frequent replacement or maintenance.
